C. 0.
The Chambers,
Supreme Court, Hongkong,
29th. February, 1908.
25184
sir,
13 JUL 08
Mr. Seth has shown me the minute he has
written, in C.5.0. 1371/1908, on the subject of some contemplat-
-ed changes in the Registry.
2.
I have the honour to point out to Your
Excellency that the Officers in the Registry are the Officers of
a department of which the Chief Justice is the head, and I
must beg Your Excellency to direct that questions of this
nature be referred to me for my opinion and advice.
3.
The perpetual changes in the staff of the
Registry, the cumulation of duties on one officer, and the
appointment of new officers to work in the Registry, about which
I am not consulted, leads to great confusion, and is most
detrimental to the administration of justice.
I have etc.,
(Sd.) F. T. Piggott,
Chief Justice.
Excellency
Sir Frederick Lugard, K.C.M.G.,
Governor, &C..
